This is one of the three songs I wrote while limiting myself only to using my Casio. (See also "The Queen Will Save Herself" and "Grace Falls.") This particular version, however, was re-recorded later using my Emu XK-6 for the distorted bassline, as I thought it offered a harsher texture than I could achieve with the Casio.

I chose the animal/jungle imagery in the song to represent myself visually on this album because this song defines a large part of who I was and who I was un-becoming during the process of writing the songs you will hear.

There is a story of a lion-man I was semi-involved with at the time. His influence is felt, for me, through several of the songs on this album. But, he is not as important to the story as the things I was learning about myself through him. And the particular lion-man in this story was truly nothing more than my animus, and so he will remain anonymous and mysterious as such.
