This song started out as
my attempt at an Irish folk melody. It might pass for that
if played at the proper speed. But, being someone who is rarely
content with creating simple folk songs, I began playing with
the BPM slide in the program Acid.
Hearing my voice turn from female to male while still sounding
somewhat natural was almost hypnotizing to me. Once it went
from folk song to experimental mind-trip, I was inspired to
create some background random noise and throw in a guitar
track. The spacy blips and drone you hear in the background
were created using my Emu XK-6.
I kind of like my black male
singer alterego. Maybe he'll get his own album one of these
days.
By the way, yes, there is
a "Part 2," I swear I'm not just being pretentious.
(Ok, maybe just a little.) I actually wrote the second part
first, but I have a lot more work to do on it, so we're just
going to have to do this George Lucas style and begin in the
middle.
(Middle?? Does this mean there is a Part 3 as well? Oh, my
child...there are more parts to this story than even I could
possibly imagine...)
